The weak-link in the factory 5.8L engine is with out a doubt the OEM connecting rods. Team JDM is the first to introduce 5.8L specific Manley H beam 4340 forged rods with ARP 2000 hardware. These heavy duty rods are used to support the rotating assembly with a Ford Performance Cobra Jet crankshaft and Manley piston and ring package. Calico coated bearings allow the crank and rods to spin freely with minimal friction limiting wear and tear. The oil pump is also upgraded to an O-ringed GT500 unit with billet gears inside for extra strength. If you are looking for a durable and reliable engine for your Shelby this is it! Most of the components used in this application Team JDM has tested and developed on their Cobra Jet Mustang race cars! JDM Engineering has a 1 year no-detonation warranty on all in-house built engines.
