Looking to bullet proof your 2007-2012 Shelby GT500 5.4L 4V Mustang? Team JDM has you covered with this 1200 HP capable, fully built aluminum shortblock! The weak-link in the factory 5.4L engine is with out a doubt the OEM connecting rods. Team JDM uses Manley H beam 4340 forged rods with ARP 2000 hardware. These heavy duty rods are used to support the rotating assembly with a Ford Performance Cobra Jet crankshaft and Mahle pistons with a custom ring package. Special coated bearings allow the crank and rods to spin freely with minimal friction limiting wear and tear. The oil pump is also upgraded to an O-ringed GT500 unit with billet gears inside for extra strength. If you are looking for a durable and reliable engine for your Shelby this is it! Most of the components used in this application Team JDM has tested and developed on their Cobra Jet Mustang race cars! We can also customize this short block further for more power production with the following: Custom Winberg or Bryant stroker crankshafts, custom sleeves from stock bore to 3.630" or greater with custom pistons to match, and compression ratios up to 12.0 to 1.
