The JDM Engineering Stage 1 Raptor kit combines our proven custom tuning with a Massive Intercooler and Cold Air kit to improve power, cooling, and fuel economy! This package nets almost +100 HP and +150 TQ gain from factory rating!! The Whipple cold air kit removes any restriction in front of the turbochargers allowing for more airflow which equals more power. Also, due to a colder intake air temp, we see a gain in power on the initial hit of throttle and a drastic reduction in heat soak!! Super cooling the air charge is a Massive WHIPPLE Intercooler, which makes heat soak a thing of the past. We include a set of Motorcraft SP-550 plugs to prevent spark blow out or detonation. We recommend the gap be set to .028" before installing.

"I have run the truck stock of course, but also on a 93 race tune from 5 star. My initial impression is that this is MUCH smoother. The stock trans tuning can be a bit harsh, especially since I have an early model 2017. The 5 star tune also was pretty harsh, harsher than stock. The JDM tune is very smooth through the gears, to the point where off throttle gear changes are nearly transparent. Also, the gear selection is terrific, the gear choice throughout the RPM range and varying loads is spot on. I live in a very hilly area with 45-55mph speed limits and it can be very annoying (especially in stock tune) for the truck to lug down too much before it has to downshift multiple gears to make it up a hill, it makes it feel like the truck is struggling. Proper shifting lets it kick down a gear quicker and go up hills with ease like it should.
The tune also feels like it makes great power. This part can be a bit tricky as peaky power and harsh shifting can feel faster, where real smooth linear power can be deceiving. I haven't done any logging, but by my analog boost gauge it looks like I'm peaking out around 22 psi on flat ground in normal mode. Low end is mellow and less nervous than the 5 star, but it still has all the punch up top. The trans tuning seems to keep the RPM's close to a better RPM for torque and it really shows when you stab the throttle. I played around in sport a little bit and the boost is very responsive, it doesn't take much pedal and the truck starts to pull very hard.
One surprise would be fuel mileage. It can be tough to judge accurately with varying terrain where I live, but I was seeing around 13.5-14.5 MPG before, and I'm seeing 16+, a solid 2 MPG gain so far!!! I really find this to be a very POLISHED tune, I believe the JDM guys really put in the work to come up with a winner. I can't imagine anyone would be disappointed with the results! I plan to keep this tune on and not revert back to the 5 star."

Annnnnddddd... I have had the tune installed for only 4 days now.
First, need to say that Nick here is the best. will answer all your questions, even the nerdy ones.. ( i get geeky and like to know details of what was actually changed. and every question I've had, Nick and team always have a great reason behind the changes/answers. )
For the tune itself:
Mine is still in a learning phase as I've only done local street driving this week, but.... so far... I have to say, it is well worth it. They do take a few days to get your tune done, but that's because, like Nick has already said, they do it case by case to make sure it works right for each truck. There are so many things going on at once in these machines, that literally one bit of code off can cause, well, you get the idea.
The boost comes so fast you almost think it's NA ! Really, it is that quick of a response now. Especially when you go to pass someone or get out of the way. Man, that power is just waiting for you with just a nudge on the pedal. If anyone is wondering if they would want a pedal commander... nope. it just confuse things.
For transmission, I did have to get used it not skipping few gears putzing around, but after only little bit, I realized how much more efficient it is and how it's better when you command any power. They really put some thought/time into this.
I have not been able to get to the dirt yet , but I can already imagine how much more fun it will be.
However, for giggles, on the street--I had 2wd, baja, just traction off, and wow..
Talk about instant power, and fact it keeps it spooled up and waiting for you to just get on it again, speechless, well not speechless, few choice words of excitement do come out LOL "
