TEAM JDM's Saleen S331 Leads Points Chase!!

For the seventh season in a row JDM Engineering is proudly sponsoring the Fun Ford Weekend Tough truck class. JDM Engineering’s involvement in this class began after attending their first fun ford event ever in 2001 with a Lightning pick up truck. Jim D’Amore the owner of JDM Engineering began heavy participation in the Fun Ford weekend series attending every race on the full season schedule. In that time he has participated in the Truck and several other classes, building vehicles specifically to compete in these classes or simply just bringing out a customers car for some testing and entering it in a class. The top dog however for the last three years has been Don Justus. Don’s bright white 2001 Lightning truck fitted with full JDM attire has been the reigning champion and one of the classes toughest competitors. However this year a new truck has taken the points lead early on with two back to back wins and is looking to be this seasons top competition!

Paul Gamino of Rosharon, Texas has jumped behind the wheel of JDM Engineering’s 2007 Saleen S331 supercharged F-150 Pick up truck. Paul has competed in several different classes in the past including many Tough truck events. So this isn’t Paul’s first time to the Rodeo, he is actually a several time event winner in the tough truck class. Since Paul’s time off in the 2006 and 2007 racing season’s he has decided to follow the Fun Ford series once again for a full season in hopes to bring home a championship for Team JDM and Saleen Speedlab. With wins at the event season opener in Orlando, Florida and then again at the Houston, Texas event (Paul’s home town track) Paul has now taken the points lead and is in serious contention for the end of the year championship!

The Saleen Supercharged truck that Paul is racing came from Saleen’s production line as the fourth ever built Saleen Edition F-150. This truck has been the test bed for many Saleen and JDM Engineering products. With over 470 horsepower to the wheels and nearly 40,000 miles between racing, towing, and street use this Saleen edition F-150 has proven to be one of the fastest and most reliable pickup’s we have ever encountered!
