In Saleen Supercharged Mustangs, the intercooler pump is run by a delay box. What this box does is delay the pump powering on for 40 seconds after the engine is turned on. If this delay box fails, so does your intercooler pump, which would overheat the intercooler system and thus the entire car. To remedy this, JDM developed a relay pack that deletes the delaly box from the intercooler pump. The pump is wired to start with the motor as soon as you turn the key. JDM also gives a option kit that comes with a switch that can be mounted under the hood so that you can run the pump with the car off, ideal for cooling between runs down the strip.
