Another innovative new product from C&L fits 99-04 Lightning and 02-04 Supercharged harly Trucks. This upper intake manifold replaces the stock unit that delivers air from the throttle body to the inlet of the supercharger. C&L found in their testing and makeing of this product that the opening at the blower end is actually smaller than the supercharger inlet. Roots style superchargers are sensitive to restrictions on their inlet, and their actual efficiency can be improved by simply reducing airflow restrictions at the inlet side of the charger. Dyno testing on multiple vehicles has shown that an increase of 12-14 HP and up to 24 FT/LBS. of torque can occur with the change of this intake alone, with an improvement of 19-21 HP and up to 30 ft/lbs of torque possible when used in conjunction with a single blade throttle body.
