Don Fezell's 2008 Cobra Jet saw Victory Lane yesterday at the 30th Annual NHRA Mello Yello Nationals in Maple Grove this weekend. We recently swapped the Manual G Force transmission for a Rossler Turbo 400 Automatic. After doing so we had a hard time keeping the car on the ground pulling 500' wheel stands!!! After some Suspension tuning we were able to get the car to leave with out wanting to take off into orbit.
Don usually runs his car in AAA Stock Automatic however this weekend after qualifying at a full second under the index with a pair of 8.6X runs Don jumped in the Stock Eliminator Auto Combo field. He made it through 3 rounds of eliminations to win his First Wally of the Season! Don's Cobra Jet has been prepared, built, and tuned by our awesome crew at Team JDM especially my father Jim D'Amore who was with Don Yesterday helping him through out the day.
