It is well known that the factory powder metal 5.0L oil pump gears are weak and prone to failure on high horsepower applications. A broken gear set will cause your engine to lose oil pressure ultimately leading in catastrophic failure. Don't let this happen to your truck and upgrade the gears before they fail.
